Grampound Veterans 4-3 Lanreath

Lanreath dominated possession for the first 15 minutes until Alex Makepeace took advantage of some indecision in the visitors' defence to put Grampound a goal up.  From then on, Grampound were largely in charge.  Ben Taylor scored to put Grampound 2 goals ahead but the team was disappointed to concede shortly before the break.
The next goal was going to be vital and it was Makepeace who scored his spectacular second when he collected the ball and swivelled to volley a perfect shot into the far corner of the goal from 18 yards.  He scored another after outpacing the visiting defenders to complete an excellent hat-trick and to put Grampound into a comfortable 4-1 lead.  It was a bit too comfortable for Grampound and things became tense when some indifferent defending resulted in Lanreath scoring twice in the last 5 minutes and were pleased to see a possible equaliser ruled out for a fairly clear offside with just seconds to go.
