A tough game was expected following the home side's good record in recent months but it didn't work out like that.  Grampound looked dangerous in attack and solid in defence throughout the game. Centre back and skipper Chris Warburton headed in from close range at a corner to give Grampound an early lead which was maintained until the break.  The second half saw Grampound put the game out of sight when an indirect  free kick was taken quickly, allowing Sam Johnson to stroke the ball home from 15 yards. Jobey Prior was released down the right and his pace allowed him time to recover a less than perfect touch and hit a low shot past the home keeper from the edge of the penalty area.  Prior scored his second when he latched onto a loose ball and hit a smart shot home from wide out on the left, goving the goalkeeper no chance to save.  With the points safe, the home side pushed forward and Grampound showed why their defensive unit has been effective for almost every game this season, comfortably holding out as Delabole & Tintagel had their best spell of possession of the game.
