Grampound were always going to be up against it in taking only 10 players on the long trip to Millbrook who were playing their first ever veterans match, the home side having a strong set of players and a full complement of subs.
Grampound stuck to their task, however, and frustrated the hosts until just before half time when a smart cross led to a simple finish. Grampound did make the odd break in the first session but the final pass was always disappointing.
The second half was one-way traffic and Millbrook ran away with it a bit and Grampound goalkeeper and stalwart Tony Ford made a series of sparkling saves to keep the score respectable.
