In many ways this was a typical end of season game. At least that was the way in which Grampound seemed to be playing throughout the game which had even more poor touches and misplaced passes than usual. Saltash took the lead on the half hour mark when defenders allowed a shot which should really have been blocked. Grampound equalised after Glyn Ford was hauled down and Mike Cruse converted the resulting penalty.
Grampound took an unexpected lead in the second half when Mike Cruse scored his second after chasing down a long free kick into the Saltash half. The visitors took all the spoils with two quick goals late on in the second half.
