Grampound 2-3 Biscovey

A severely depleted Grampound team ultimately went down to a tidy Biscovey side but not before scoring two impressive goals and withstanding heavy pressure for long periods in the second half.Biscovey went ahead early on with Grampound claiming some unfair calls from the visitors but the equaliser came soon after with a crisp low shot into the far corner by Bennetts. Biscovey asserted themselves with some good possession play and pressure around the Grampound penalty area resulted in two further well-taken goals to give them a 3-1 lead after 25 minutes. The makeshift home team , which included a host of Grampound Veterans players, battled back into the game before the break and proved to be a stubborn opponent, denying Biscovey another goal in the game, with stand-in keeper Henderson distinguishing himself with great saves on several occasions.. Indeed, it was Grampound who scored the only goal of the second half when, late on, Fox raced clear and his delicate chip over the advancing goalkeeper reduced the arrears to a single goal.
