Grampound started with a bare 11 but made things difficult for a strong visiting team.  Grampound may even have taken the lead early on when a gilt-edged chance was blasted over the bar by Rob Cannon.  Minutes later Alex Makepeace might have also scored but was thwarted by a good save and a bizarre offside decision.  Goalkeeper Tony Ford took an unfortunate knock to the head but Grampound were lucky that player Matt Fletcher was able to get changed and come on as sub even though he had only come along to watch.  Helston looked the better team however but a solid home defence ensured that the half finished goal-less.

The visitors scored 5 minutes after the break and with Grampound legs suffering went on to score 3 times more in what amounted to an eventually comfortable win.
