(Duchy League Div 4)
Back to Fixtures

Callington eventually overcame bottom club, Grampound Reserves who put in a spirited performance in a sporting game. After a lackluster first half hour, leading scorer Kane Wilson put Callington one up, a lead they maintained until half time. The visitors shocked the home side, when early in the second half Dai Moseley headed in a corner from close range, and then Benoit Tanguy headed in a free kick to put the visitors 2-1 up. The introduction of influential Town substitute Malcolm Barker proved the turning point with twenty minutes left, as the home side stepped up their game. Sam Gale smashed home a half chance to put the scores level. Kane Wilson scored Town's third goal ten minutes from the end when he netted a rebound from the keeper after Dan Hamblyn's shot had been saved.  The home side then spurned several more chances to consolidate their win that keeps the pressure on the division's top teams.
