Saturday 24 October Probus 3-0 Grampound(Duchy League Div 1) Following the tragic event at Probus a couple of weeks ago, this match was played in a very downbeat manner for what is usually an intense local derby. Probus looked much the better team in the first half and deservedly went into the break ahead. Probus were 3 up inside 20 minutes because lapses of concentration and precision are becoming rather too common and again they cost all three goals. Weeks and Glyn Ford looked lively up front when Grampound did attack and Sam Cooke in the Probus goal had to make a couple of good saves, especially from Weeks. Grampound looked more solid in the second half but any chance of getting back into the match ended when both strikers were forced to leave the field through injury. An even half saw no addition to the scoring. With the problem with injuries noe becoming a bit of a crisis - Glyn Ford is likely to be out for some time, John Brooker has now been out for a month, Shane Weeks and Ryan Maker have been carrying injuries for some time - manager Tony Ford will need to think about summoning up reinforcements from somewhere. |
