(Duchy League Div 1)

An even first half ended with the best chance of the match falling to Shane Weeks but his shot past an advancing keeper slid the wrong side of the post. Earlier, a Glyn Ford header went just over the bar but Godolphin had looked lively and were dangerous with long crosses to the farpost.

Godophin had a bigger share of possession in the second period but Grampound's back three allowed very little space and they were rarely troubled seriously. Jon Ridd had a half-chance when the visiting keeper fumbled a shot but from Grampound's viewpoint things took a turn for the worse when Scott Roseveare was dismissed for retaliation after being fouled. It suddenly became backs to the wall as Godolphin pushed on in search of a winner but some superb defending kept them at arm's length and a well-protected Sean Hicks looked dominant in Grampound's goal. The home team were glad to hear the final whistle, however, having earned a valuable point in a very entertaining match.
