Saturday 10 October Grampound 3-3 Boscastle(Duchy League Div 1) Boscastle had the edge throughout the first half as Grampound struggled to retain possession. The visitors took an early lead when a deep cross was headed home by Martin Heal, and they extended the lead on the half hour when Jon Brewer got on the end of a through ball to slot home. Grampound were under pressure at this stage and were grateful to keeper Shaun Hicks for some superb saves to keep them in the game. At half-time Boscastle were good value for their two goal lead. Grampound began the second half in more positive mood and grabbed a lifeline when Matt Fletcher hit home a blistering thirty-five yard drive. Boscastle restored their advantage from the restart when Jamie Burnett capitalised on some poor defending but the hosts hit back with Rob Cannon stabbing home at the far post. Minutes later Shane Weeks was able to flick a cross goalwards and it hit the net to to give Grampound an equaliser, well-deserved after their superb second-half fightback. In the last fifteen minutes both sides had chances to grab all the points but had to settle for a draw each after a superb game of football. |
