Maker with Rame 2-2 Grampound

Grampound looked good value for a two goal half-time lead. Although the home side had a couple of chances Hicks was rarely troubled and Glyn Ford, playing his first competitive match since injury in October, should have hit the target on two occasions but sent his efforts just overfollowing searching crosses into his path. Ford was set free on 20 minutes, only to be brought down by the onrushing keeper and Weeks coolly despatched the resulting spot kick. John Brooker rose well to head a Weeks corner into the roof of the net and Grampound looked well set.

Grampound had more chances at the start of the second half with Jon Ridd going close and a series of close-range shots were bravely blocked by home defenders. With the weather worsening, Maker seemed happier in the torrential rain and grabbed a lifeline when a a soft header evaded Hicks and then 10 minutes later a free kick was not defended well and an equaliser was stabbed home. The last 20 minutes saw both teams stiving for the winner but few chances were created by either team.
