St Stephen 2-0 Grampound

(Duchy League Div 1)
Back to Fixtures

St.Stephen earned the spoils from a vital relegation battle at home to Grampound with a two nil success. The game was rather spoiled by some erratic refereeing which frustrated both teams. St.Stephen just about deserved the win although it could be argued that Grampound played the better football. The game flowed from end-to-end but had little end product although St.Stephen did look more dangerous in front of goal. Matt Spry should have opened the scoring but hit a weak shot, but the hosts did take a first half lead from a late corner. Truscott’s cross was headed on and touched onto the bar by keeper Tony Ford with Ross Dunn heading in the rebound. The second half followed similar lines with more frustration before Nick Spry headed on a corner for Kyle Willmott to finish.
