Manager Berry made a few changes from the side that lost to Biscovey mainly due to the unavailbility of a few players.
Mount Charles dominated the game straight from kick off with Sisco Silva just shooting wide in the first minute, with Andy James making a superb save to deny George dos Santos moments later. It was therefore no surprise when Mount Charles took the lead after a well taken overhead kick from the dangerous Mike Barnard. Mount Charles were dominating the midfield although Grampound had a couple of chances on the break, with Stephen in the Mount Charles goal saving with his legs from an Orchard drive and being forced to save long range efforts from Kieran Reilly.
However Mount Charles looked dangerous with every attack and Barnard grabbed his second being on the end on a fine passing move before he completed his hat-trick after heading home from a corner. Dos Santos was particularly dangerous down the left wing for Mount Charles and only a couple of terrific saves from James kept the score to 3 -0 at half time.
Grampound had a great deal of pressure at the start of the second half but were hit with a sucker punch when Silva broke free and smashed home number four. Dos Santos made in five on the hour after he broke in behind the Grampound defence.
Grampound were awarded a penalty after Kieran Reilly, who worked his socks off throughout the game, retrieved a loose ball and Orchard was upended in the box. Orchard then stepped up to convert the spot kick. Shaun Mee was twice denied by Stephen as was Orchard as Grampound enjoyed their best spell of the game before Jake Blyth lobbed James to grab Mount Charles sixth goal. Woodman upended Silva in the penalty area but James saved the spot kick from Dos Santos with Woodman making amends getting in a superb block on the rebound with the goal gaping.
Although Mount Charles had a very powerful forward line Grampound made it far too easy for the hosts throughout by giving the ball away needlessly and allowing the opposition too much time on the ball. Manager Berry will have to address these issues if the side are too get anything from the next game away at Gerrans.
