Grampound travelled to Altarnun without manager Alister Berry so Ian Varnell took charge in his absence. Grampound were strengthened by the inclusion of Dai Moseley and long term injury victim Greg Dunn.
Grampound opened the scoring after 10 minutes when the Altarnun keeper punched the ball away from goa,l only for Keiran Reilly to volley home from 15 yards.

On the half hour mark Dai Moseley dribbled the ball into the Altarnun penalty area but before he had chance to shoot an Altarnun player went through the back of him giving the ref no option but to point to the penalty spot. Ryan Orchard took the spot kick to make the score 2-0.
Strickland was rarely troubled in the Grampound goal in the first half with Grampound's well marshalled back four easily able to cope with whatever Altarnun threw at them. The score remained 2-0 when the teams went in for the break when really Grampound should have been at least four up.

The second half was much harder work for Grampound as they now had the slope and a strong wind against them. The home side pulled a goal back 15 miutess into the half when an Altarnun corner caught the wind and blew over Strickland's head and into the goal. Just 5 minutes later Altarnun almost levelled the score when a player hit the Grampound post from 20 yards. With just 15 minutes remaining stand-in manager Varnell threw on Timothy Topham up front for Reilly. Grampound won a corner on the 80th minute which Ryan Orchard whipped into the Altarnun 6 yard box. The ball then bizarrely rolled down Topham's back and into the Altarnun goal. 3-1. In the 85th minute Altarnun gave themselves hope of getting something from the games when an Altarnun player shot from 25 yards to beat Strickland (not quite the 40 yards Altarnun reported), and make the score 3-2. Grampound saw out the last 5 minutes and endless injury time to grab 3 vital points in their late quest for survival in Duchy 4.
