Grampound Reserves came into this match knowing that only a win would do in their battle to avoid relegation to Duchy Division 5. It was Grampound that started the better of the two teams when they opened the scoring within the first minute when Andy James slipped a ball through the North Hill defence to Lee Budge who in turn laid the ball to Ryan Orchard to score from the edge of the North Hill 6 yard box. Grampound then extended their lead on 25 mins when the North Hill defence gifted the ball to Budge for him to once again find Orchard in the centre for him to grab his and Grampound's second.
Grampound's 2 goal lead though was short lived when North Hill's Nathan Dore equalised 2 minutes later thanks to a well taken lob. North Hill levelled the game just before half time when Tim Topham put the ball into his own net from Strickland's good save, though it did appear that Jules Woodman might have been fouled in the build-up.
Grampound made the score 3-2 in the 65th minute when Ryan Orchard played the ball out wide for Mike Berry. Berry crossed the ball to the far post where Budge slid in to grab Grampound's winner.
Grampound then held on for the final 25 mins despite seemingly giving the ball away at every possible opportunity.
This was a very valuable 3 points for Grampound as they seek to avoid relegation, but if Grampound continue to give the ball away so easily and continue to miss sitters then we will struggle in our must-win games.
