Grampound found themselves a goal down after about 6 seconds as Altarnun played through static Grampound defenders. Worse was to come as after 10 minutes the visitors had stretched the lead to three. The lack of organisation in Grampound's play was overcome a little by sheer effort and a good move released Budge and he pulled a goal back before half time.

Two early second half goals from Altarnun put the game well beyond Grampound but Lee Budge scored another with the move of the game.Varnell was released down the right as Grampound broke from deep in their own half. He played an early ball behind the defence and Budge's pace allowed him to reach the ball just outside the penalty area. His shot past the advancing goalkeeper hit the roof of the net to reduce the arrears.
