Saturday 22 April Grampound Res.2-3 Gerrans(Duchy League Division 4) A scrappy end of season affair did not make for great watching. Grampound central defensive pairing looked a little disorganised at times and Gerrans opener came from there when their striker was pushed and the resulting penalty dispatched. Grampound were soon on terms when good pressure forced errors and James Fryer followed the ball in offthe goalkeeper. Grampound got on top but another bit of indecision at the back allowed a shooting chance and Stricland was beaten low to his left. Again Grampound looked the most likely and pressed the visitors back, forcing a series of corners and set pieces. This continued into the second half and Andy James forced the ball home for the equaliser afterseveral Grampound players could not quite get in a shot. Although they continued to press for the winner it was Gerrans who scored it. They had missed a couple of good chances in the second half but took a good free kick into Grampound's penalty box where the defenders were asleep and stole all the points as the balled was flicked over Strickland by an unmarked player. |
