Saturday 18 October Grampound 7-0 Camelford(Duchy league Division 2) Grampound were anxious to move on from the previous week's moderate display but Camelford looked like being a tough nut to crack in the opening quarter of an hour. When Glyn Ford scored, though, skipping around the goalkeeper and avoiding his attempt to bring him down and passing into an empty net, the visitors seemed to go into their shell and offer very little. Ford extended the lead ten minutes later with the goal of the game. Grampound kept possession and probed patiently, and after about 12 neat passes Rosevear played a ball into Ford's path. It looked as if his chance of a shot had gone as he hesitated, but he pulled the ball inside and hit a smart shot past the goalkeeper. Ford completed his hat-trick with a simple goal as Mee's long throw evaded defenders to give him an easy chance from eight yards. Webb went off before half-time with a badly cut eye from a flying boot, but Grampound were in no mood to surrender the initiative. In the second half, Ford got on the end of another good Scott Rosevear through ball to score his fourth. Ryan Maker added a goal from the penalty spot before a long clearance from Dean Dunn found Shane Weeks to smash home number six from 25 yards. Substitute Matt Clements completed the scoring when a cross from forty yards was missed by everyone and ended in the net to give Grampound their biggest league win for some time. |
