Saturday 11 October Delabole Utd 4-2 Grampound(Duchy league Division 2) After two good results, Grampound looked confident as they opened the match and before 5 minutes were up they went ahead when Grge Dunn's cross deceived the keeper and hit the back of the net. That should have been a platform for Grampound to go on and play with confidence but it was the hosts who looked the more dangerous. Grampound's defence looked a little ponderous and Delabole took full advantage, equalising within 10 minutes with Grampound slow to get back and then going ahead at a corner when Grampound allowed an easy header. Grampound looked dangerous too, on occasions, but a number of crosses and shots did not quite hit their target. Weeks was unlucky just before half-time when he beat his defender but was pulled down for what looked like a stonewall penalty, only for the referee to wave the game on, for what he later said was a "collision". Ryan Maker hit a rasping shot millimetres over and it looked like it might be one of those days for Grampound. Grampound were camped in the Delabole half for almost all the second half. Corner after corner and cross after cross rained in to the home goal area but somehow they survived. Shane Weeks had a 30 yard drive touched over by the home keeper and Maker's free kick brought another good save from him as Grampound were repeatedly frustrated and then the inevitable happened. On one of the rare occasions that the ball was in the Grampound half, Leaney lost possession and the Delabole forward made the game safe at 3-1. Grampound again responded well, and Glyn Ford's header might have been handled on the line but was not given by the referee. For all Grampound's pressure shots were few and another defensive error, this time by Webb, allowed yet another soft goal to give the home team an unlikely winning scoreline. Sean Mee scored a consolation goal for Grampound in the dying minutes when his shot from a narrow angle looked to have been saved but the home linesman judged that the ball had crossed the line, much to the annoyance of the Delabole goalkeeper.
