Saturday 22 November Grampound 5-2 Pelynt(Duchy League Div 2) Grampound welcomed back goalkeeper Stuart Harris from injury and were pleased to give a second debut to former player Mark Cock who has not played for some time since winning the East Cornwall league with Foxhole. Grampound's first half was not brilliant, failing to clear a corner which resulted in conceding a far post header in the tenth minute. Although Grampound continued to look vulnerable, it was Grampound who scored the next goal and equaliser when Sean Meewas upended in the penalty area and Ryan Maker stepped up to convert the spotkick.Shortly afterwards, some hesitation in the Grampound defence allowed a free shot at goal and a stunning hit came back off the bar to a Pelynt forward who retored their lead. A goal down at the break, Grampound came out for the second period in a much more positve frame of mind and for most of the half pushed the visitors back. Grampound scored again when a fine pass by Maker allowed Mee to run at the visiting back four. His good work down the left gave him the opportunity to play the ball across an undefended goal and Weeks hit home Grampound's equaliser. In the very next attack, Glyn Ford was blatantly pushed in the Pelynt penalty area as he pursued a ball and Maker scored his second with a perfect penalty. Substitute Andy James scored again for Grampound, coming in on the far post to sweetly hit home a perfect deep cross from Weeks. The fifth came when Harris, back in Grampound's goal after a spell out injured, collected a ball and threw out quickly. Maker's ball down the line found Rosevear, whose searing pace was too much for his markerand he found his way into the Pelynt penalty area. With the defence in confusion, his pass across from the left gave Mee the easiest of finishes for the fifth and final goal. This was a good win after an indifferent first half and more performances like that in the second half will be needed to get the team in its proper position in the league table.
