Saturday 15 November Biscovey 4-3 Grampound(Duchy League Division 2) Grampound started well on the postage-stamp pitch and created a number of good chances in a solid first half, but a combination of good goalkeeping, bad luck and poor finishing kept the scoresheet blank at the break. Tony Ford in the Grampound goal had had very little to do, with Webb and Woodman wining almost everything as the markers in a back three.. The second half started perfectly for the visitors. Some neat passing found Trethewey on the left and his well-weighted ball down the channel saw Glyn Ford collect the ball and square to Sean Mee, who finshed well from close in. As is usual, once ahead Grampound's concentration waned a little and they were caught napping at a quick corner, allowing the home team to ram the ball home. Five minutes later, though, Grampound were back in front when Glyn Ford latched onto a through ball and hit a sweet shot past the goalkeeper. Soon after, the lead was extended when Mee was fouled when past the keeper and about to pass the ball into the net. Ryan Maker scored well from the spot but Grampound were a little surprised to see the offending player remain on the pitch. With Jon Ridd on as substitute and making his debut, Grampound looked well in control but committed suicide in the last 10 minutes, conceding three times. First, James Fryer gave away a needless penalty. Ford saved the spotkick but Biscovey were first to the rebound and hit the ball home. Then, twice in a couple of minutes, defensive frailtis allowed Biscovey the wrong side and twice they capitalised to give themselves a good win that looked out of the question just minutes before. Grampound have now been pulled down into the relegation area and a few wins before Christmas are an absolute must.
