Grampound 3-1 Biscovey

(Duchy League Div 2)
Back to Fixtures

Grampound started well but soon were giving the ball away with disappointing regularity. Ford and Mee had good chances to score but it was the visitors who took the lead halfway through the first half when Dean Dunn was, unsurprisingly, outjumped by Dave Lobb at the far post at a free kick and his header across goal was finished with ease. It took Grampound a host of chances and a run of good saves from the Biscovey keeper to get the goal back, just befoer half time, when Glyn Ford released Tom Bartlett. Although his touch was heavy he just reached the ball before the advancing keeper and forced the ball home.

Soon into the second half, Harris was adjudged to have fouled in his penalty area but Sean Hicks made a good save from the spot kick to keep the scores level. Although Biscovey looked dangerous at times, it was Grampound who looked more likely to score and , again, the goalkeeper looked to be a good shot stopper. With 15 minutes remaining, Shane Weeks left his challenger for dead down the right and slipped the ball back for Glyn Ford who managed to stab the ball into the net at the second attempt. A few minutes from time, a cross from the right, again, found Jon Ridd and he powered into the space to finish well from 8 yards to put the game safe.
