Sunday 28 October 2007 St Stephen 4-1 Grampound (East Cornwall Youth League, Under 15s) This was not a match to take only 11 players. Horrendous conditions were exacerbated by the fact that most of the team had been to a party the night before. And boy did it tell!! Playing against the wind and driving rain in the first half, the team did a fantastic job to keep the score at 0-0. Every player was getting stuck in and, with the wind in the second half, the team was confident it could steal all of the points. This was confirmed when we took the lead in the 50th minute. A cracking move down the left was finished by Jonny Ridd latching onto a cross from Stu Eames. Unfortunately that was the last of the good news. As St Stephen worked hard for the equaliser, they changed formation and put pace up front. Our fuel tank was empty and they began to run through us in a similar way to what happened against Roche, and score at will. In the end, we did deserve to lose the game but not 4-1.
