Sunday 6 January 2008 Wadebridge Town 8-0 Grampound(East Cornwall Youth League, Under 15s) This was always going to be a tough game away against the league leaders who had not only not lost a game this season but also had not even conceded a goal! Mind you if a stranger had come to watch the game in the first half and didn’t know which team was which, they would have thought that Grampound were the league leaders. We played Wadebridge off the park in the first half. Great passing and movement, it was a joy to watch. Only a sloppy goal marred what was the best half of football we have played all season. Sadly all good things must come to an end, and slowly but surely we ran out of steam in the second half and once again succumbed to our biggest problem of allowing midfielders to run right through the whole team and score at will (well at Graham actually!!). Whilst we did not deserve the final score of 8-0, I’m afraid that is what we are going to get if we can’t play a full 80 minutes. The one bit of good news is that when we play proper football we are a match for anyone in this league.
