Sunday 30 April 2008 Grampound 0-2 Wadebridge Town(East Cornwall Youth League, Under 15s) Grampound put in a terrific performance against Wadebridge who, by taking all the points from this game, become very worthy league champions. In the first half Grampound matched their illustrious opponents in every department and were well worth the level scoreline. In the second half the Wadebridge determination was really shown and they pushed Grampound back. Grampound did not crumble, though, and played with great heart, restricting the strong visiting team to long shots for much of the period. Graham Endean deserves a mention with some great saves and for stepping forward to command his area well. Similarly, Toby Keast looked an exceptional midfielder in the first half, causing real problems for a good opposing team. Wadebridge did take their two chances well, however, and ran out deserving winners, but Grampound can feel extremely proud of their performance against a very good team. |
