Sunday 6 April 2008 Grampound 1-2 Tintagel(East Cornwall Youth League, Under 15s) Although not playing to their full potential, Grampound pressed the visitors back for long periods and were very unlucky to not win the match. They were first to the ball, their passing was good and the runs of Lewis Waters up front always looked like getting a goal. Toby Keast in midfield certainly caught the eye with his high workrate, tackling and passing. Enough chances were missed though to have won several games and Tintagel were slightly fortunate to grab goals a few minutes either side of half time through an own goal and a penalty. In the second period the Tintagel goal seemed to have a charmed life as the ball just would not go in, the woodwork being rattled twice. Eventually Stu Eames managed to force the ball home but with only minutes left Tintagel were able to hang on for the win. |
