Grampound Res. 3-5 StTeath Res.

(Duchy league Division 5)

Back to Fixtures 2007-8

Grampound Reserves went down 3-5 at home to St.Teath reserves. Grampound dominated the opening twenty minutes, but fell behind five minutes later through Dan Cornford. The hosts struggled for the rest of the half and fell further behind through Tom Harris. On the hour Darren Gunn was upended in the box and Tim Topham scored to bring Grampound back in the match. Gunn then went round two players and set up Mike Berry to score his first goal for the club. Home keeper Nathan Bennett-Glew tipped a fine shot around the post, but from the resultant corner Mark Sleeman put St.Teath back in front. Grampound pushed on looking for an equaliser and were caught out when Ben Waudby scored the fourth. Jon Lannon scored his first goal with a cracking volley from the edge of the box to give Grampound some hope, but this was extinguished in injury time as Waudby scored his second.
