The game at Pelynt Reserves was abandoned after eighty-one minutes with visitors Grampound Reserves leading 3-1. Pelynt took the lead, but Grampound were level when an Aaron Yeo free kick was deflected into his own goal by a Pelynt defender. Mike Bawden headed home from a corner to put Grampound ahead and substitute Nick Thompson then put Ryan Orchard through for the third. Young Grampound player Joe Dunn suffered a serious injury nine minutes from time and following some alleged comments an altercation between the players followed. As a result the referee abandoned the game and the League await his report.

From the Duchy League website on 18/01/08:-
"Following a referee’s report of the abandonment of the match between Pelynt Reserves and Grampound Reserves on 20th October 2007, the committee reviewed evidence from both clubs and also the results of the County Disciplinary procedures, which dealt with the individual cases reported by the referee. This game was abandoned as a result a brawl,
which involved a number of players although the referee’s report clearly stated that the Grampound players were trying to defend themselves after an initial incident. Three Pelynt players were named by the referee and punished by the County disciplinary procedures. Charges against three other Pelynt players that were only identified by numbers were dismissed through a lack of evidence. Various other players from both teams were cautioned in the match. The County ruled that Pelynt were chiefly responsible for the abandonment of the game, fined the club £40 and warned them to their future conduct. In view of this the Duchy Management Committee ruled that the score at the time of the
abandonment, which was 3-1 to Grampound should stand. Pelynt F.C. immediately suspended two of the players involved in the incident from their club and the Management Committee applauded this action and therefore inflicted no further financial penalty on the club."
