Grampound Res. 0-2 Premier Sixes

(Duchy league Division 5)

Back to Fixtures 2007-8

Premier Sixes wrapped up the second promotion position in Division Five unless Mount Charles can win their last two games with a plus forty-nine goals difference. They won two nil at Grampound Reserves although the home side gave a good account. Sixes should have taken a third minute lead, but Dan Parsonage hit the crossbar from just four yards. Grampound went close when a Richard James curling shot hit the post and the half ended goalless. Neil Currah missed another chance for the visitors putting wide of an open goal after a home keeping error. Sixes finally went ahead when a long ball down the middle found Tom Currah who set up Martyn Probert to scramble home. Runner’s up position was surely secured when Ben Ringrose, the man of the match netted the visitors second. Grampound earned a penalty near the end but Tim Topham struck his shot straight at James Ringrose in the visitor’s goal.
