Saturday 12 May 2007 Saltash Utd 0-0 Grampound(Duchy League Division 3) This game was played at a good pace under difficult windy conditions and although Saltash marginally dominated possession it was Grampound who looked the most threatening in the opening 20 minutes. Grampound were only under threat from their own passing failures but Leaney and his fellow defenders looked firm at the back. Some indifferent refereeing and some unsavoury actions by some of the host team resulted in tempers fraying and a rash of yellow cards did not stem the incidents. Cooke made an outstanding save to tip a powerful shot over and then several Saltash players together with Dean Dunn were fortunate to be not shown red just before half time. Grampound almost took the lead on the hour when Glyn Ford outpaced his marker and his shot looked goalbound but hit a post and bounced to safety. Cooke made a second excellent save, pushing a good shot around the post, to keep the home team at bay and thereby kept a fourth successive clean sheet which is a record for Grampound as far as anyone can remember.
