Saturday 24 March 2007 Holywell Bay/Cubert 2-2 Grampound(Duchy League Division 3) After a six week lay-off, Grampound could be excused some rustiness but came out of the blocks at full steam against a hesitant Garrison Club, who have had some good results in recent weeks. The movement of Weeks and Ford and the running of Dunn gave the Garrison defence little peace and with a little more composure the game could have been decided by the fifteen minute mark. The breakthrough, though, when it came was fortunate as a wickedly dipping corner from Greg Dunn was misjudged by the defenders and a deflection resulted in an own goal which put Grampound ahead. Five minutes later, Moseley was harshley adjudged to have committed a foul and the free kick was crossed into the Grampound six yard box where Neil Crook met the ball perfectly to head the equaliser with Grampound's defence flat-footed and defending far too deep inside their own area. Grampound could not believe they had let such a poor Garrison team back into the match and pushed forward and looked like scoring in every attack. The lead was restored from Maker's long free-kick when Moseley lost his marker and headed powerfully into the net. Three minutes later the same two players combined and Moseley headed home another to take his tally to seven headed goals for the season so far, which is an impressive record for the Grampound midfielder. The second half was a bit of a non-event, with Grampound unable to grasp full control of the game but with the visitors offering very little threat. The best chances came when Weeks latched onto a through ball but his shot was well saved by the Garrison keeper near the post and a little later when Ryan Maker’s clever footwork gave him space but his well-hit effort grazed the bar. The inevitable lack of match fitness in Grampound's legs began to show towards the end but they were never in any real danger and ended as comfortable winners.
