Tuesday 17 April 2007 Queens Rangers 0-1 Grampound(Duchy League Div 3) Grampound completely dominated the opening half, passing the ball well and moving the very large defenders into places they did not want to be. At the back, Webb dominated the defence for Grampound, giving the home team little room to offer pressure. On 25 minutes, a corner from the left by Greg Dunn ended high and floating at the far post. This was not the delivery the Grampound management team wanted, but nevertheless was reached by Cooper who headed back across the danger area. Centre-back Matt Fletcher, up for the corner, joyfully hit the ball home to put Grampound ahead for the first time in a number of games. A resolute Grampound team held out comfortably for the rest of the period. The second half saw Grampound defending stoutly for about 40 minutes to preserve the single goal lead as Queens threw players forward to try to preserve their status in the division. It was good to see Grampound players putting their bodies in the way of challenges and shots, demonstrating that they really care about the outcomes of matches. Grampound ran out worthy winners. and might have scored a second when Turton drifted past a defender, only to be ruthlessly hacked down
