Saturday 17 December 2005 Biscovey 0-0 Grampound(Duchy League Div 3) Grampound began the match well, knocking the ball around and being rarely threatened. On a small pitch which did not really suit Grampound's style, space was hard to come by but Grampound created three good chances in the first half. A long ball over the top found Cotterill and his early volley from 25 yards narrowly missed, with the goalkeeper beaten. Another ball over the top put Glyn Ford clear and his lob over the advancing keeper came back off the post. As he tried to secure the rebound, he was unceremoniously flattened by the goalkeeper but to Grampound's dismay a free-kick was awarded against the striker rather than a penalty to him as most watching thought. A good through ball by Maker found Toms on the edge of the area and his pace took him clear but he was unable to add the finishing touch, his shot hitting the side-netting at the near post. A number of free-kicks and corners also put Biscovey under pressure but Grampound were unable to get on the end of any of them. The second half saw Biscovey mainly pinned back in their last third. Numerous set pieces were won and delivered into the home side's area but Grampound were unable to capitalise on their territorial advantage. It was a disappointed visiting team who had enough pressure to win several games but failed to score and therefore dropped two valuable points.
